The Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama (OHHDL) has recently issued an appeal to the general public, asking them to recite the Medicine Buddha mantra ahead of His Holiness’s upcoming knee treatment in the United States.
TA YA THA / OM BEKANDZE BEKANDZE / MAHA BEKANDZE RANDZA / SAMUDGATE SOHA.
Bekandze means eliminating pain, maha bekandze means great eliminating of pain. One explanation of the meaning of the first bekandze is that it refers to eliminating the pain of true suffering, not just of disease but of all problems.
