Here I am not blaming the Gelugpas and all. But while talking about Dharma if we ask the Geshes by saying, "can enlightenment be achieved in a single life span?" - The answer will be no. Again if we ask them, "when will we attain Buddha hood?" they will say, "in future during the time of lord Maitriya." Attaining enlightenment in a single life span is a distinctive quality of our tradition, the Great Perfection (Dzogchen). Though all the Buddha's teachings are equal, there are great difference in effects and blessings. Thus, our tradition, the Dzogchen is superior to all. That's because all the practitioners of the Dzogchen display certain signs of realization when they pass away and it's solely due to the power of distinct doctrine. So, even if we cannot practise the Dzogchen throughout our life, try as much as we can to practise it by establishing link with it.
